Prattville man sentenced to 15 years in crack cocaine conspiracy

Montgomery, Alabama – Antwoin Harbison, a.k.a. “Gump”, of Prattville, Alabama, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for being involved in a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, announced George L. Beck, Jr., United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama.  In December of 2011, Harbison was found guilty of conspiring to maintain a residence to use and distribute crack cocaine, conspiring to distribute crack cocaine, and possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute. 

            Harbison received such a long sentence because of the amount of drugs involved, because he was the leader of the drug conspiracy, and because he was involved in the sexual assault of a female at the crack house after providing her with crack cocaine.

Elmore County man charged with sodomy, child sex abuse

ELMORE COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - An additional charge has been leveled against the Elmore County man who admitted to police that he fondled a young boy.

According to the Elmore County Sheriff's Office, authorities have now filed a charge of First Degree Sodomy against 24-year-old Joshua Ray Parton. Parton was arrested Wednesday on a charge of Sexual Abuse of a Child Younger than 12 after investigators say he fondled a 9-year-old boy living in his neighborhood.

Investigators say the abuse started in the Lightwood Community. The Sheriff added that the victim's family and Parton knew each other. The allegations came to light this week when the boy's father noticed a change in his son's behavior.

Parton is currently being held in the Elmore County Jail. His bonds total $90,000.

ELMORE COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - An Elmore County man has been arrested for Sexual Abuse of a Child Younger than 12 after investigators say he fondled a boy living in his neighborhood.

The suspect, 24-year-old Joshua Ray Parton worked as a computer technician for a company at Gunter Air Force Base. According to the Elmore County Sheriff, Parton admitted to fondling a 9-year-old boy multiple times starting in May 2011.

Investigators say the abuse started on or around Shields Road in the Lightwood Community. The Sheriff added that the victim's family and Parton knew each other. The allegations came to light this week when the boy's father noticed a change in his son's behavior.

As of now, Parton faces one count of Sexual Abuse of a Child Younger than 12 - more charges may be forthcoming. If Parton is convicted of this one charge, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - On March 14, authorities were called to the Brookmoor Apartments in Prattville on reports of a subject shot. The man police believe is responsible for those injuries is now behind bars.

Officers searched the complex after a man was transported to the hospital for a gunshot wound to the buttocks. They were unable to locate the suspect.

Police were called back to the complex on March 18 on reports of a person in possession of firearms. Upon arrival officers located 36-year-old Eric Tyrone Dixon, the suspect in the March 14 shooting, and arrested him for Assault Second Degree. In addition to the assault charge, Dixon was also charged with Possession of a Short Barrel Shotgun.

Dixon was placed into the Autauga Metro Jail on a $15,000 bond for each charge.

More arrests expected after long string of Criminal Mischief

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - Police say multiple people face felony charges following 13 reports of projectiles being thrown into occupied vehicles in Prattville.

Prattville Police say two men, 19-year-old Daniel Ray Brown and 20-year-old Thomas Lee Nelson, along with two juvenile females, have been arrested and charged with several counts of Criminal Mischief First Degree and Third Degree, and one count each of Throwing or Shooting Deadly or Dangerous Missile into an Occupied Vehicle.

Investigators have linked at least 13 cases to these individuals in connection with this investigation. Authorities say additional arrests are forthcoming.

The total amount of property damage reported so far is approximately $20,000.

Road rage leads to attempted murder charge

PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A Prattville man was taken into custody after police say a case of road rage ended with the man pulling a gun on someone.

According to Prattville Police, authorities responded to an incident on March 14 on North Memorial Drive after a man became upset after he was cut off in traffic. Police say 48-year-old Paul Randall Hollon followed the vehicle that cut him off to the parking lot of a business. Hollon got out of his vehicle and confronted the driver. He then became agitated and took a swing at the other driver. Eventually, Hollon walked back to his vehicle, grabbed a shotgun, and fired at the driver and passenger in the other vehicle.

Hollon was located by Autauga County Sheriff's deputies at his residence and taken into custody. He has since been charged with Attempted Murder and Menacing. Hollon is currently behind bars in the Autauga Metro Jail under $60,000.00 bond.

Eisenhower National Security Series: College Program to be held at Auburn Montgomery, April 2-4, 2012. This annual program is coordinated by Dr. Kalu N. Kalu of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
