Mardi Gras scheduled to roll into downtown Prattville | Community Spirit

The City of Prattville's 9th annual Mardi Gras Parade, sponsored by the Krewe of Athena, is scheduled for Saturday, January 26th.  The parade themed "Splashing into 2013 - Mardi  Gras Style" will roll out from the Autauga County Courthouse at 1:00 p.m. and wind its way through the streets of downtown with plenty of beads, candy and Moon Pies for everyone.

Local vendors will be selling beverages and food beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Partners in Pediatrics parking lot, located next to Bank Trust in downtown Prattville.  A children's fun are will be set up as well.

This year the 2nd annual Prattville Service League Chili Cook-off will be held in conjunction with the annual Mardi Gras festivities.  Set up/check in for the downtown cook-off will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will officially open to the public at 11:30 a.m.  For more information and complete rules, please contact the Prattville Service League at rachell419@yahoo.com.
